Before the actual content, a really random thought: I thought it was really cool that during one of the hymns during Communion today, the last line in one of the stanzas had a double exclamation (!!) at the end of it. Yes, salvation is that great. Few other things truly deserve heapings of superlatives and !!’s :-)

For Killing the Sin of Discouragement in Ministry
“Will any one of you who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline at table’? Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare supper for me, and dress properly, and serve me while I eat and drink, and afterward you will eat and drink’? Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.’”
- Luke 17:7-10

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. “
- 2Cor 3:18-4:1

It’s been a crazy, crazy privilege to serve God. It’s been the source of most of the most immense joys in my entire life; nothing can match it. And to think that ministry itself is a GIFT and a GRACE from God’s perfectly loving hand… how can I ever be discouraged and question “what’s the point?” Yes, I do ask that question when I’m in a more emo disposition, but the Word cuts through the fog of my sin, hits me over the head, and says “Wake up, idiot! And get in touch with reality! Rejoice!!”

For Cultivating Humility and a Love which Rejoices with those who Rejoice :-D
“The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete. He must increase, but I must decrease.”
- John 3:29-30

The title is self explanatory.
